Social Media + Travel

Updated: Oct 19, 2020

Technology, especially the internet, might be one of the greatest creations the human race has ever put on the face of this planet. Why? Well its a universe within a universe. When it comes to travel, the internet and social media, are great tools to inspire, entertain, and inform you. Here I will list my favorite social media pages (in no particular order) from everything to style and travel inspo. as well as pages that serve to enrich your knowledge.

For some serious eye-candy, discovering new places and experiences Earthpix is an account in instagram you should definitely check out. With 17.1 million followers, you know you are getting quality content as well as a way to connect with other fellow travelers around the world. #earthpix

From my native country of Honduras, Maria Jose Paz is dedicated to explore her own country and inspiring others to do so as well. Reporting her culinary experiences, to her adventures, and her stories with local people and tour guides, she always has a huge smile on her face. She also travels across latin america, always keeping it real and 100% catracha. She is proud of her roots ( making me extremely proud of them too!) and anyone who sees either @mjpaz, with her 33.6k followers or, @deltimboaltambo, with 22.6k followers, will understand why. You can also follow her on twitter here!

Vox might be my favorite news and culture site, not only for their impeccable content spreading out over a variety of interests, their beautiful visuals and graphics but most of all for their web series and essays done by Johnny Harris. Harris travelled across the globe to places where borders are not as defined and straight forward as you think. There are a lot of social, cultural and political problems and implications that come with it. He always reports from the inside out, recounting the experiences of people as well as being sure to be as much informed of the topic as he can. Sadly these vlogs have come to an end, ( he is actually one of the co-founders of Bright Trip) but you can still enjoy them and learn from them since they are still relevant today. You can check them out on youtube or right here on their website where you can find the vlogs, articles and pictures, as well as details of how it was made, so you can get the whole experience. Follow him on twitter or on facebook!
