For many people, the airport is a stressful and restless place. People rush from one gate to another, are pressed for time and hardly take in the world around them. For me, the airport is a very special place, for I have known since childhood that a new and exciting adventure is about to begin. Perhaps also partly because I have been visiting the airport regularly since I can remember.
Travelling has been very important to me since childhood. Thanks to my parents, I had the opportunity to see a lot of the world, experience new cultures, hear foreign languages and enjoy culinary delights. I am firmly convinced that thanks to these experiences I have grown into the cosmopolitan person I am today. Therefore, traveling takes an important role in my life. Since I am able to travel alone, I try to visit at least three or four different countries per year to meet new people all around the world.
I consider travelling to be a huge privilege of our time and I am aware that not everyone is able to enjoy this privilege. I carry this gratitude deep inside me and I try to make myself aware of it again and again.
In addition, Corona has brought the entire world to a virtual standstill. There has rarely been so little travel as now. I am sure that many people like me who miss traveling painfully will feel the same. For these reasons I would like to write a travel blog: to share my experiences with people who are generally or currently unable to travel.
I am really happy to have you hear and that you are following our journey to create this blog.
Cheers,
Joanna
